Questions

Pricing, answered.

Is the 15% a referral fee?
No. It is a technology service fee for the platform — verification, escrow, matter tracking, and dispute support. Docket does not share in counsel's professional fees; the service fee is charged separately and added on top, consistent with the NBA Rules of Professional Conduct.
When is the money released to my lawyer?
Only when you confirm the matter is complete. Until then, the full amount sits in Paystack escrow. If there's a dispute, funds are held while our team helps resolve it.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. You see the counsel's quoted fee and the 15% technology service fee before you pay. There are no listing fees, subscription fees, or withdrawal charges beyond standard payment-processing.
Is it really free for lawyers?
Yes. Verified counsel join at no cost and keep the full fee they quote. The technology service fee is paid by the client on top of that fee.
